Nice, a big cosmopolitan city right on the Med

Nice is a beautiful city on the French Riviera, located in the Alpes-Maritimes department. It is a popular tourist destination, known for its mild climate, stunning beaches, and vibrant culture.

Nice was founded by the Greeks in the 6th century BC and has been inhabited by a variety of cultures over the centuries, including the Romans, the Saracens, and the Italians. In 1860, Nice was annexed by France. There are many things to see and do, for example one could visit the Promenade des Anglais. This famous waterfront promenade is a great place to stroll, people-watch, or bike ride.

Nearby, perhaps explore the Old Town, a charming medieval quarter with narrow streets, winding alleyways, and colorful houses. Or visit the Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain, a museum which houses a collection of modern and contemporary art, including works by Picasso, Matisse, and Chagall.

Of course, you can always work up an appetite for one of the many world-class restaurants by taking a walk along the beach or up to Castle Hill, which offers stunning views of the city and the Mediterranean Sea.

The Nice Carnival is a world-famous festival that takes place every February. Our favorite hotels are Hotel Negresco, a popular choice for celebrities and other well-heeled travelers. Or try the Hotel Le Meridien Nice, or the Hotel Pullman Nice Acropolis.

Overall Nice is a beautiful and vibrant city that is perfect for a relaxing vacation or a romantic getaway. With its mild climate, stunning beaches, and vibrant culture, Nice is sure to leave you with lasting memories.
